I found myself today, sitting in my car, almost in the exact same spot when I first telephoned Julie. Almost 8 months ago. So much has changed for the better, it brought a smile to my face. I had been struggling with anxiety for over a decade due to a traumatic event which happened to me when I was heavily pregnant. It all came to a head last year when my partner suggested we go on holiday - abroad. Deep down I wanted to go but then the familiar feeling of worry crept upon me and I was in panic mode about the flight, feeling claustrophobic, what would happen if I needed to get out of the plane but I couldn’t, where would I run to? lots of irrational thoughts and feelings came upon me - and I wasn’t even there!! I thought this is enough.

Julie has been fantastic with my 9 year old son, who has been suffering from panic attacks, due to a traumatic event when he was younger. Julie has taken the time to get to know him in advance of his first session and put him at ease straight away.
During his four sessions Julie combined my sons interests with Hypnotherapy and specific Tapping techniques, this has given us the tools to help in advance and also if necessary, at the time of a panic attack starting. I just wanted to tell you how grateful i am to you for the work you did with my daughter back in June for her fear of flying. She coped amazingly well on our recent flights to and from holiday. I bought a tablet and she downloaded her favorite romcoms and spent the time absorbed in them, the breathing techniques also proved successful. On the way home we were coming in to land when the pilot suddenly had to head up at a 45 degree angle at speed to avoid a problem on the runway and even that didn't bother her!. I approached Julie after much research into the best methods available to help my son resolve a number of very serious phobias he has had since a young child. As he was now 15 it was beginning to interfere with his school work, especially Biology and Sports Science, the reason for this was due to his phobias being, blood, bones and the heart. I wasn’t sure I would write a review on Julie’s webpage but if it even helps one person to pick up the phone and turn up at an appointment it will be worth it. I am a professional with a high powered job and severe anxiety and agoraphobia were the last things I would ever have thought I would have suffered from.There is a stigma attached to any form of mental illness especially when you have a high powered professional job and that’s why I prefer to remain anonymous. It started after a fall resulted in the fracture of my shoulder and I couldn’t get out of the house for a few weeks and started to suffer from severe anxiety. I didn’t know why and I didn’t know what was happening. I couldn’t sleep, eat, leave the house or carry out everyday activities; I couldn’t even go outside the door to stand in the garden. It was the most frightening thing I’ve ever gone through. Picking up the phone and asking for help was an extremely hard thing to do, it took a week of looking at the phone, ringing the number and putting the phone down before I could ring and finally talk to someone at the end of the phone. To turn up for the appointment was a massive step for me to take and to talk to someone I didn’t know was difficult, I didn’t even understand it myself. Julie was great; she was patient and understanding, supportive and kind. It was hard but Julie put in place for me a “toolbox” of techniques and strategies to enable me to cope with the anxiety and to gradually be able to go out again. Gradually over 6 months and only 5 sessions I was able to work again, shop, walk around a street and shopping centre. I was amazed by the progress I made in a short amount of time. Julie supports you and encourages you all of the time, but it’s up to you to put in all the hard work to get the results you want to achieve. Julie tells you how well you are doing and makes you feel confident and good about yourself again and praises you for all your achievements, but its then up to you to tell yourself how well you are doing and to praise yourself for your achievements. I hope this will help someone else to have the courage to pick up the phone, it’s not easy but it’s worth it. I wouldn’t have my life back now if I hadn’t made that call and had the courage to turn up for the appointment. I cannot thank Julie enough.

I had been struggling with anxiety and a number of other related problems for quite sometime. Deciding I needed to seek advice was a major step for me. I was welcomed into a very warming and calming environment and straight away I felt at ease. Julie's whole nature is a calming soothing one. I first met Julie in 2011, having been through a very scary situation and needing some help with coming to terms with it and the by products; panic attacks, lack of sleep and generally being in a black hole. Julie helped me see that with work, I could come back stronger and more confident. I am now back at work, doing lots of training, still having panic attacks but they don't scare me as much and my sleeping is much improved. What is a surprise is that in the last month work colleagues and family/friends have all said that I seem more confident in myself and calmer, I don't let situations or people upset or control me as much as before, which has improved quite a few relationships within my life. The real surprise is that I've now started training in the Holistic side of life and this can only be because Julie gave me the guidance that was needed to have the confidence to do so. The other thing is, you are never rushed out, Julie takes her time and lets you take yours, some of my sessions were very long and tiring for me, so she must have been extremely tired at the end of them as well but you would never have known. We all need a helping hand at times, Julie is a wonderful helping hand and if you need a helping hand you really couldn't choose better than Julie.
